WHAT is it?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable, and comfortable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven extremely effective at treating a wide range of orthodontic problems.

WHY would i wanT it?

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your doctor’s office getting adjustments. Invisalign also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

How does it work?

You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Wang has prescribed. You’ll visit Dr. Wang about once every 6 to 8 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.

How long will treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case and can only be determined by your doctor; however, the average case takes about 12 months for adults. The length of time necessary for a teen patient may vary and can be determined by Dr. Wang.

How often must I wear my aligners?

We find that aligners are most effective when worn 20 to 22 hours per day and removed only for eating, brushing and flossing.

How often must I see my Invisalign doctor?

Dr. Wang will schedule regular appointments usually about once every four to eight weeks. The goal of these visits is to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.

How much does Invisalign cost?

We know cost is a big question for anyone considering orthodontic work. In most cases, Invisalign treatment is comparable to the cost of traditional braces. Other factors may include your treatment goals, the difficulty of your case, how long you are in treatment, where you live, and additional factors determined by Dr. Wang. Invisalign treatment is also covered by many dental insurance policies, and we offer many flexible and affordable payment.

Will my insurance cover Invisalign?

Because dental benefits differ significantly from policy to policy, you should review your personal coverage plan. However, in general, if a patient has orthodontic coverage, Invisalign should be covered to the same extent as conventional braces.

What payment options are available for Invisalign?

Dr. Wang and staff will help you find options to make your treatment affordable. We offer several flexible and affordable monthly payment plans to fit your budget. Please call our office to learn more about our financing options.

Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment to prevent my teeth from moving again?

Your teeth are a dynamic part of your body and changes as you get older. Dr. Wang recommends that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether braces or Invisalign treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back towards their initial position.

iTero 3D scanner

Our office now uses the iTero impressionless scanner to take oral impressions for braces, Invisalign, appliances and retainers. The iTero scanner allows Dr. Wang to take a digital impression – a highly accurate, digital 3D image of the your teeth and gum tissue. The iTero scanner is all about keeping you comfortable while delivering precise imagery, without the goop or gagging associated with conventional impressions.

iTero Scanning has several benefits over traditional impressions. First, a patient’s movement does not distort the scan while eliminating the invasiveness and discomfort caused by impressions. Second, the real-time digital display of scans allows for immediate adjustment, assuring accurate scans the first time. Finally, the image quality of impressionless scans is superior to conventional impressions.
