Before Your First Visit
Once scheduled, you will also receive an email that contains a link to our Patient Portal to fill out brief new patient forms. The Patient Portal also provides a place to enter your dental insurance policy information, as well as the ability to upload a copy of your insurance card. Remember, providing accurate insurance information prior to the appointment can ensure that we provide the most reliable information pertaining to your coverage, and therefore overall investment cost.
A few days prior to your first appointment, one of our friendly Treatment Coordinators will reach out with a Welcome Call to prep for your initial visit.
A Warm Welcome
Once you arrive at our office and are greeted at the front desk and will be asked to present your license and dental insurance card (if applicable).
To start your appointment, your Treatment Coordinator or one of our records techs will complete comprehensive orthodontic records, which include photographs of the mouth, digital x-rays of the teeth and jaws, as well as a digital iTero scan of the mouth. This information is used to help determine Doctor’s findings and develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move during orthodontic care.
Orthodontic Consultation and Treatment Plan
The doctor will then review your records with you and discuss findings and treatment options in detail, as well as answer any questions you may have.
All of the patient responsibilities along with the exact cost, available payment plans and estimated treatment timeline will be outlined.
Upon completion of a thorough examination, our doctor will be able to answer the following questions:
- Is orthodontic treatment indicated?
- When is the correct time to begin treatment?
- What treatment options are available?
- How long will treatment last?
- How much will treatment cost?
Your Treatment Coordinator will take over to guide you through the financial and scheduling process to officially begin your Smile Journey.
Active Treatment Appointments
The appointment when you get your appliances usually takes 30-60 minutes. Our braces patients will then see us at regular intervals of 4 to 8 weeks. These adjustment appointments are usually 10 to 30 minutes long.
Our Invisalign patients’ progress is regularly tracked online through our digital scanning app, Dental Monitoring, which is a combination of AI tracking technology and Doctor/Assistant monitored. In-office appointments will be requested at Doctors’ discretion at different points throughout treatment.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us at least 24-48 hours in advance. It may be difficult to get a convenient time (early morning/late afternoon) if you need to reschedule an appointment on short notice. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us.
